Think – Tank Pilot Programme

Think – Tank Pilot Programme

The Think Tank Pilot Programme placed Muslim women’s lived experiences at the heart of policy and practice, ensuring their perspectives and needs were recognised in decision-making at all levels. The project aimed to highlight the critical importance of Muslim women with lived experience, enrich research, and build trust between communities and research institutions, creating opportunities for women to influence policy, advocate for change, and develop as future leaders.

Over a 12-month period, participants were upskilled to become authors of solutions addressing issues such as poverty, social inequality, and community development. Their findings and recommendations were shared with government bodies, local authorities, universities, research agencies, media outlets, and other stakeholders, contributing to meaningful policy and social impact.

Participants gained practical skills, built confidence in articulating their views, and learned how to present research and solutions to key decision-makers. The programme offered a certificate of attendance acknowledging their achievements, reimbursement for any incurred costs, and recognition in MWC reports based on the Think Tank’s work. Workshop sessions ran regularly, and participants engaged in follow-up activities to apply their learning in real-world contexts.

Through this programme, Muslim women were empowered to shape policies that affect their lives, build leadership capacity, and leave a lasting legacy as researchers, advocates, and community leaders.
