Creating A Centre For Women, By Women
Introduction: A Vision Like No Other
The Muslim Women’s Council is proud to introduce a bold, groundbreaking project that will transform the lives of Muslim women and other women from ethnically diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds across Bradford and surrounding areas.
We have secured a building, the first step in our mission to create a women led, multi purpose centre, rooted in the principles of inclusion, empowerment, and community. We now seek to raise £2 million to refurbish and fully realise this vision. This will be a forward thinking, transformative, community led institution created by women, for everyone.
Why This Matters Now
Women, especially from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee backgrounds, are the backbone and stand on the frontlines of everyday community life. They understand the challenges, carry the burdens, and are ready to lead. But they lack the space, resources, and platform to do so. This centre will change that. Our women and girls, many second and third generation UK citizens, are uniquely positioned to bridge generations and cultures. They have the ideas. Now they need the resources and the tools.
A Space for Empowerment and Change
This is more than a building. It is a living model of inclusive empowerment, grounded in Islamic values of justice, peace, and equality, and open to all.
It will house four core components:
Centre for Learning & Enterprise
Life long learning and enterprise support to uplift women, inspire economic growth, and foster independence.
Place of Worship and Reflection
A multi faith and secular friendly space for quiet prayer, reflection, and interfaith dialogue, supporting spiritual wellbeing and social cohesion.
Non Profit Hub
A dynamic space for local, national and global organisations serving women and families, fostering collaboration and innovative solutions.
Community Resilience and Leadership Development
Focused on voice, advocacy, leadership, interfaith work, and skills development, equipping women to lead and shape society from the grassroots up.

Strengthen community resilience against division, poverty, and Islamophobia
