Terminology
In Islam the term “divorce” constitutes many different types of ways a couple’s marriage is ended. Men can divorce their wives unilaterally by pronouncing talaq three times either consecutively or on three separate occasions.

- Copies of all relevant documents must be submitted with the completed application along with the fee. Call our help desk for assistance on 07950633917.
- You must provide the correct information about yourself and the respondent including spelling of names, addresses and date of birth. Please inform us of any changes by contacting NSC’s help desk 07950633917.
- All information provided in your online application form must be true; if found to be false, the case may be cancelled and the fee will not be refunded.
- The cost of this service is £400 which is payable when submitting the online application. Alternative payment methods are available by calling our NSC’s help desk on 07950633917. Please note the fee is non-refundable. Please speak to a member of staff if you are struggling financially.
- This service is open to both men and women.
- The process of a Sharia divorce case may take between three to six months, in certain circumstances this length of time may vary.
- You may be required to attend meeting(s) with the National Sharia Council panel, via Zoom or by telephone.
- The National Sharia Council’s divorce procedures are carried out according to the Quran and Sunnah.
