West Yorkshire Police are launching a new drop-in service in order to make it easier and more accessible to report a crime. There have been concerns raised by the local authorities and service providers that members of the community are not reporting crimes due to a number of reasons. The initiative is being supported by the Muslim Women’s Council.

150 people attended a consultation event held on Sunday 2nd August at the Carlisle Business Centre, organised by Muslim Women’s Council (MWC).
Muslim women have a vital role to play in all aspects of public and private life, their participation has always been prominent throughout Islamic history and in the current context the role of British Muslim Women has never been more important.
The Muslim Women’s Council agrees in part with David Cameron’s statement on tackling non-violent extremism, but we will wait for the full speech from the Prime Minister before making a formal statement.
