- This include real-life analogies to make the concept relatable (e.g., "Cancer is like weeds growing in a garden.").
- Highlight different types of cancers and risk factors.
Interactive Element:
- Trivia questions were used during the talk (e.g., "What is the most common type of cancer worldwide?").
Activity: "Healthy Habits Scavenger Hunt"
How it works:
- A physical list of clues leading to lifestyle choices that reduce cancer risk were used(e.g., "Find something in the room that helps you stay hydrated—water!").
- Teams competed to find all items.
Goal: Teach cancer prevention tips (e.g., healthy eating, exercise, sun protection, avoiding tobacco).
Closing Activity: "Take-Home Pledge"
How it works:
- Participants were asked to write or share one action they will take to reduce cancer risk or spread awareness.
Goal: Ensure participants leave with a personal commitment.
Conclusion:
The session received highly positive feedback. Participants found it educational and thought-provoking, appreciated the engaging format, and expressed a commitment to applying the information in their daily lives.
