Misala Pramenković, a professor of Islamic sciences in the Gazi Isa-beg Madrasa, was the third candidate on the (SPP: Stranka pravde i pomirenj) Justice and Reconciliation Party's list of Muamer Zukorlić.
Pramenković is believed to be the first Hijab-wearing MP ever to serve in the Serbian National Assembly.
She told B92.net:
My appearance in the Assembly caused a lot of attention, but there was no inconvenience
Pramenković added:
Often prejudices and stereotypes are caused by ignorance
