The pandemic which affected Muslims around the world

woman

Amidst the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), many countries had taken multiple measures to limit its fast spread.

One of the biggest decisions made was to prevent group gatherings and meetings, which directly affected the way believers practiced Islam.

Iran, with over 500 deaths caused by the virus, has halted the Jummah prayers in its major cities.

Tajikistan too suspended the Jomaa prayers and closed its borders, despite not reporting a single case of the COVID19.

For the United Kingdom, many have advised the Muslim community to avoid as much physical contact as possible, make Wudhu (ablution) at home, bring one’s own praying mat, install hand sanitizer stations in the mosques, and most importantly isolate one’s self once diagnosed with the Coronavirus.

We at the Muslim Women’s Council advise all Muslim women to follow these recommendations, be cautious and vigilant and submit to all the measures taken by the government to fight this pandemic.

May Allah bless and keep you safe.
