Over 180 people celebrate sixth anniversary of Bradford’s Curry Circle

The event was hosted by the Muslim Women’s Council as part of their annual Christmas party for Curry Circle service users at the Carlisle Business Centre with faith representatives, volunteers and businesspeople among the guests.

A Christmas meal, provided by MyLahore, was sponsored by international aid and development charity Islamic Relief and Deputy Lord Mayor Coun Shabir Hussain helped to hand out raffle prizes along with Asghar Ali from MyLahore.

Soul singer Janet Jaye provided entertainment.

Bana Gora, chief executive officer of the MWC, said: “The party was a resounding success and a great way for service users to celebrate our sixth anniversary with us.

“We thank all our volunteers and supporters, especially our catering partner MyLahore and Islamic Relief for sponsoring the meal.”The Curry Circle provides a hot two-course meal for people who are homeless or struggling to feed themselves. Since its launch in December 2013, the scheme has provided more than 40,000 meals. Sessions are every Thursday from 6 to 8pm at the Carlisle Business Centre.
