Adoption is a practise that is encouraged by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) yet, in the Muslim & particularly South Asian community, it is not a practise that is often observed.
The purpose of this study is to explore the understanding Muslim women have of adoption in Islam and to understand the barriers, if any, that are present. The study will examine attitudes and opinions towards adoption, to gain a greater understanding of societal beliefs surrounding the concept of adoption in Islam.
