
Black magic, “Kaala jaadu” and voodoo are terms used interchangeably in different cultures to describe the same phenomenon, the practice of the dark arts where supernatural forces are used to serve evil and egotistical objectives.
Black magic, referred to as “Kaala jaadu” in the South Asian culture is often used to explain a varying degree of misfortune or impairments, some of which, could arguably fall under the umbrella of mental health. The purpose of this survey is to examine the understanding of mental health issues in the South Asian community and the relationship this has with black magic.
