Bradford is one of Britain’s most diverse cities and has seen an increase in the South Asian population, together with an increase in Eastern Europeans and asylum seekers. In contrast, the white population has been gradually decreasing in some of Bradford’s districts, especially within areas that have seen an influx of minority ethnic groups. This is referred to by some as ‘white flight’.
This research aims to investigate whether we are seeing a similar pattern to ‘white flight’ within the South Asian communities and the impact of segregated neighbourhoods.
