Muslim Women Among Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women

Women's Executive Network and their sponsors select empowering women across Canada who endorse workforce diversity and inspire tomorrow's leaders every year.

This year, two Muslim women, Nabeela Ixtabalan and Aiza Abid were among Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award.

Nabeela is in charge of the operations and performance of Walmart Canada's 400+ stores. She has nearly 20 years of management and business development experience with Walmart, IKEA, and Starbucks Coffee, and is one of The Globe and Mail's Report on Business 2022 Top Executives. Nabeela holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and supply chain management and distribution as well as a master's degree in industrial and organisational behaviour and design. She has also received certification as an executive coach.

Aiza advocates for children's rights and has founded the international charity Aiza's Teddybear Foundation. She is also a Plan International Canada youth ambassador and a Master of Public Policy candidate. Aiza helps youth learn about their rights and freedoms through her foundation, as an intern at the UNICEF East Asia & Pacific Regional Office, and as an advisory board member at Ascend Canada.
