According to the GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) league table, 8 Muslim faith schools were ranked amongst the top 20 schools in Britain of 2019. Four of them made it to the top 10.
This list is made every year by the government to classify schools across the country by measuring their academic attainment and the percentage of students who carry on with their education.
The top three schools were Tauheedul Islam Girls' High School in Lancashire, Eden Boy's school in Birmingham and the Eden Girl's School in neighbouring Coventry.
This came as no surprise since it is the fourth consecutive year in which Tauheedul Islam was rated first in the national table. In Tauheedul Islam, 94 percent of students remained for further education.
The institute, on the other hand, got a 69.9-point score on the Progress 8 scale. While Eden Boy's school in Birmingham obtained a 64.4-point score and Eden Girl's School got a 58.3-point score.
The Muslim Council of Britain expressed their pride and gratitude over the results.
“We are very proud of our achieving students, the schools' staff and the families,"
said Bana Gora, Chief Executive Officer of the Muslim Women's Council.
