Maqam system provides improved Umrah services to foreign pilgrims

Maqam system provides improved Umrah services to foreign pilgrims.

In order to improve processes and provide better service, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has revealed that foreign pilgrims are now able to reserve Umrah trips and get the required visas through the Maqam electronic platform.

According to the ministry, the Maqam system enables pilgrims to choose Umrah arrangements from approved agents in their native country and fill out the necessary visa-application procedures. Once the process is finished, the applicants will be given a reference number, and the visa will be provided through the platform within 24 hours of making a successful online payment. Visas stay effective for 90 days starting from the date of issuance.

The online system allows accommodations reservations, flights booking to and from Makkah, Jeddah, and Madinah, as well as domestic travel inside the Kingdom.
