Ibrahim Hamadtou is a 48-year-old Paralympian who proved that nothing is impossible.
When he was 10-years-old, he lost both his arms in a train accident, but that didn't stop him from achieving his dreams. He became one of the most inspiring Paralympians in the world.
Hamadtou represented his country Egypte in the Table Tennis game at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics Games, where he puts a paddle in his mouth and uses his right foot to throw the ball up to serve.
In an interview to the Olympics, Hamadtou shared how playing table tennis came his way. He said that his friend had suggested that he should “stick to something he could do.” This statement had generated the spark and the will and determination. Hamadtou said that he wanted to prove to him that despite having no arms he could practise a sport like table tennis.
He won three silver medals, two in the 2011 and 2013 African Championships and one at the 2013 Egypt Open.
