Hundreds of UK Mosques opened their doors as part of the #VisitMyMosque campaign

Over 250 mosques across the UK finally opened their doors to visitors, welcoming people on tours and assisting them in better understanding their faith, following a two years halt because of COVID.

On September 3-4, mosques around the country opened their doors to individuals of all faiths as part of a national campaign. For decades, mosques in the United Kingdom have hosted open days for their local communities.

#VisitMyMosque started as a national movement in February 2015, with roughly 20 mosques participating. The initiative, run by the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), grew to over 250 mosques last year.

“Visit My Mosque day is a national initiative facilitated by the Muslim Council of Britain encouraging 250+ mosques across the UK to hold open days to welcome in their neighbors from all faiths and none and build bridges across communities,” the Muslim Council of Britain wrote in a statement.
