Hijabi athlete makes history at the Tokyo Olympics

Egyptian athlete Feryal Ashraf Abdel Aziz won the karate women's over-61 gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, after defeating Azerbaijani champion, Irina Zaretska.

Feryal Ashraf Abdel Aziz wrote history after becoming the first player to win a gold medal for Egypt and the first player to win gold in karate competitions in the history of the Olympics.

Feryal studies pharmacy at the British University in Cairo, and is the only girl in her family, as she has only two brothers.
