Over 2,000 people attended a fun day to raise funds for the reconstruction of one of Blackburn's earliest mosques.
The event's organisers at Newton Street's Masjid-e-Rizwan considered it a big success, stating that £24,000 was raised to help fund the repairs.
The Kokni Muslim Association's trustees were granted planning approval to repair and expand the mosque in 2019.
The renovations are expected to cost up to nearly £800,000, with private donations funding the project, and the new mosque will seat 450 attendees.
Masjid-E-Rizwan president Asif Naik said:
This is a moment in time, a day to remember for Masjid-E-Rizwan, where everyone got together, from the local community, schools and businesses.
Everyone enjoyed the food, activities and the social gathering, and it was amazing to see so many children enjoying themselves.
The money raised was amazing, but the biggest achievement here is how the community came together to support and have fun.
