Scotland has become the first country in the world to make period products free.
The Scottish parliament voted unanimously for the Period Products Bill. The new law has made it a legal duty for Scottish councils to ensure that free period products are accessible to anyone who needs them.
Rachel Vette, spokesperson for the Fare Share charity said:
We find that affordability and access to period products are an issue facing many. The issue is compounded by the stigma It's an amazing opportunity to be able to say that everyone needs to have dignified, equal access to these products without fear of having to explain their situation.
