Tameside's first Muslim female deputy mayor is Tafheen Sharif of Pakistani origins.
Tafheen, a Labour Party member, was also named the city's youngest councillor in 2012, and has previously worked as Bedfordshire's deputy police commissioner.
Since she was a student, Tafheen has been involved in political activities.
Being from Pakistan's Azad Kashmir, she claimed the Kashmir problem needs a serious solution after being elected deputy mayor.
We all have a role to play in solving this problem and I will be talking about the Kashmir issue at every forum.
