In a special ceremony held at the Orland Park mosque in Chicago, Illinois, over 50 American Muslim girls decided to start wearing hijab.
Sheikh Kifah Mustapha ElMera'bi, imam and director of the Prayer Center of Orland Park, posted a photo from the event on his Facebook page.
"The girls of Orland Park mosque are celebrating donning hijab, not as a piece of garment, but as devotion to Allah, love for Islam, and pride in being Muslim," wrote Sheikh Mustapha in a post.
