Today marks the 50th Earth Day anniversary, an annual celebration around the world that highlights the problems which the environment faces.
This year is going to be different seeing that the world is witnessing the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, and most of the countries are under lockdown. But this shouldn't stop people around the globe from celebrating Earth Day.
There are over a thousand different programs from all over the world listed on the Earth Day website that allows you to take part in the celebration.
EARTH DAY LIVE 2020
Multiple activists, along with entertainment and political celebrities, are offering discussions, performances, teach-ins, and suggestions for action on the official website of the Earth Day movement. This will take place for 24 hours.
ANIMATION & POETRY FOR THE 50TH EARTH DAY
10 short animated films made by professional animators, college students, and children, all from the Pacific Northwest and curated by artist and animator Marilyn Zornado, will be available starting 1:00 PM UK time on April 22nd through 1:00 AM UK time on Monday, April 27th.
EARTH DAY ART MODEL 2020
An “international telematic festival” featuring live performances by a variety of multimedia artists will start at 1:00 AM on Wednesday, April 22nd, and continue through Thursday, April 23rd, at 1:00 AM UK time.
