With all that is going on it is easy to fall into a dark place and forget all that we should be grateful for, don’t worry it’s happened to all of us! But NO MORE! Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, announced on Saturday 21st March that the city will book up to 300 hotels from Intercontinental Hotel Group for the homeless in order to practice safe social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Mayor’s team is working with taxi drivers through apps like FreeNow and Gett, who have volunteered to transport people between shelters and hotels. (Source: BBC)

Norway’s Prime Minister, Erna Solberg, held a conference specifically for children. For half an hour, Erna and her team answered questions submitted by children across the country; she did this in the hopes of busting any myths that may have come about and to reassure them that it is normal to be scared and everything will be okay. To celebrate its 60th birthday, the nation of Madagascar held its largest ever tree-planting ceremony, with a million seedlings being planted within a couple of hours; the country is planning to plant a million trees for each of its six decade history. (Source: Good News Network)

A whole street in Hebden Bridge came together for a socially distanced cup of tea on Saturday after a neighbour expressed she was struggling with loneliness. Kirst Newton suggested the idea via the street WhatsApp group and at 11am on Saturday, around 12 residents in the street sat out in the sunshine with a cuppa and chatted down the street.
